Here at Malbern Garden Rooms we like to keep up to date with current views, news and trends from the worlds of work and play. The last twelve months have transformed people’s work and leisure schedules like never before. Over recent months a lot of research, conducted by a wide range of professionals from the work, HR and medical professions has taken place with very interesting findings. A poll by Typeform revealed that worker’s perceptions of their productivity was either higher (43%) or remained the same (38%) with only 19% claiming to be less. Amongst the reasons for their views are (1) fewer distractions 41% (2) more flexible working hours 26% and (3) I’m just happier 19%.
We have also seen that critical to this is the right working environment, with a good office space with excellent levels of internet communication being available for those all important ‘Zoom’ and other online platform meetings. We have seen a boom in the Garden Room Office building industry, and indeed across all areas of the home improvement business. Whereby the working from home trend seems set to remain in some form there are of course those who cannot work remotely or for a variety of reasons don’t want to. One of the main reasons for the respondents to the Typeform poll gave for being less productive was that they got more distracted (52%) with (15%) saying that they missed the face to face social interaction.
This goes to emphasise the fact that we are social animals and that mixing with others is paramount to our mental health and well being. We have had to adapt our social behaviour like never before and as we move out of this pandemic we are finding that more and more people are turning to their gardens to utilise them with Garden Bars, Gyms, Leisure Rooms and Studios.
As much as the British are a nation of pub goers we are also changing our views as we socialise in closer groups in the safety of our homes, adding to the demand for Garden Rooms.
